Civilization Should Elevate the Human Condition
Civilization is not an end in itself.
It is a means through which human beings may flourish across generations.
Across history, humanity has built cities, institutions, economies, technologies, and systems of extraordinary complexity. Yet the ultimate purpose of civilization was never merely the accumulation of wealth, power, or technological sophistication.
Human beings are the ultimate ends of all development.
Development must serve human flourishing — not the other way around.
Any system that systematically worsens the human condition ultimately fails its civilizational purpose.
